I am sure this question has been asked many times;  Is there a way to make a module part of the skin and still have it function normally? I did make some searches here in the forum but most of the time I get no results.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a generic way to get any module into the skin. There is the concept of the skin object which allows you embed the features of a module into a skin, but this is typically developed extraneously or in addition to the module.

Mitchell has a nice blog post about SkinObjects for more information.

Your reply is a huge help! I have been interested in developing skin objects for many reasons. There seems to be a lot of functionality that should be part of a skin but the way DNN works modules are restricted to those areas designated for them. Specifically, I want to put a very tiny weather widget in the header portion of a news channel skin. You see lots of really cool modules for that but tucking them around in tiny spaces in a design header is is way too clunky. Sometimes I just want to pull in snippets of info.

Thanks for the help.
