The host SMTP settings are correct, sending an test email works fine.
I'm using the forum module in a child portal and somehow the mdule is not getting the right e-mail settings.

The other problem is that i can't find any child portal SMTP settings :(

Anyway, how does the forum module retrieve the settings?

the issue is clearly described: the mail server is configured to send from or to the current domain only. you need to provide an SMTP account, which is allowed for "relaying".

hmm, i wish i knew how. :(

I got plesk access and i have been searching parallels.com for clues about relaying.
My friend google didn't provide much help yet.
My wanna bee friend Bing didn't help as well.

Anyway my hosting provider only gives me a mail account foreach domain and dns settings like:
host mail.webfabrikant.nl type record value 123.456.789.012 (the server ipadres)
host mail.piaggio-mp3.com type record value 123.456.789.012 (the server ipadres)

If i could set SMTP for the child portal i think i know how to configure it, but i've no clue on how to configure it with "relay"

Please help

You have to configure your mailserver and there the mailadress you used for your DNN Portal to use relay.  This couldn't be made with settings on your DNN portal.
