High,

this is a very urgent problem. After upgrading to DNN 05.01.01 (from 04.09.03), users from a specific role can't upload files to a portal folder using the Documents module (04.01.00). The permission to create files in the approbriate folder is assigned to the role (in the file manager), as well as editing rights within the module.

When the user clicks on the edit pencil of a document, he comes to the admin page. The correct folder is preselected. When he clicks on "Upload new file" below the documents dropdown list, an error message ("You are not allowed...") is displayed instead of the normal upload dialogue.

The whole thing works fine when I try this as Host or Admin.

The site is running as an intranet site, user authentication is provided by the DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication (05.00.02) provider. It is hosted on a Windows 2008 Server (UAC is enabled) and SQL Server 2008 Express.

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
Michael

 Hello Michael,

Have you tried granting upload privileges to another role and verifying that it is only that role?  Also, can you upload files to a different directory by selecting another directory in the file upload control?

Michael,

In addition to Scott's suggestions, make sure that the Security Role has at least view permission in the Portal root directory.

This is the same for all roles that have write permissions to a folder. No one can upload any document, except Superusers and members of the Administrators role. I also tried to grant these permissions to these users in the Windows file system (using Windows Explorer on the server console) - it had no effect.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the suggestion. The behaviour did not change after this.
