It's been a week, that I have not released a new module. This time is a backup download utility module called DNNInfo WebsiteBackUp. As you know from the name, this module will perform a backup for your whole site. Some users may find this useful, others probably not. If you can gain your access or full control through your webhosting, I dont think you need to install this module. Otherwise, why dont you give it a try :=)

Here are the screenshots of the module

DNN Requirement: Version 4.8.4 or above

To download the module, please login on the site and go to http://www.dnninfo.com/Listings/tabid/57/id/11/p/1/Default.aspx

Most of the links in our module have been set to visible. You still have the ability to set this link to hidden by updating the css file. All links will have class DNNInfo_FreeEditionLink. You just need to include <strong>.DNNInfo_FreeEditionLink{display:none;}</strong> on the module.css or in your skin.css (if you install most of our free modules, so you only need to include once only.) Please leave this link visible, if you do want to help me promoting our site.

I hope more DNN users will find this site useful. Keep visiting us back as more free modules will be released soon.

Regards,
andy

What does this backup?  is it just the full site files?  Or does it get both the site files and the database?  DOes it work in shared environments?

What I'm hoping is that it does a native SQL backup but pulls the .BAK file onto the web server. If that difficult issue has been addressed, then this is very promising.

This is just do the whole backup for the site files only, probably in the next version will add the ability to back up the sql. Yes, shared enviroments hosting is working fine, I have tested on PowerDNN shared hostings (personal plan).

I have added the feature to backup the database in .bak format. I have tested the module in PowerDNN and it works well :=)
Havent tested in GoDaddy or other webhosting provider..

I assume the .bak format only supported to specific size amount, could be 1GB or less, but I am not really sure about this. as I tested database under 100MB only...
