Ok.  I've looked, am lost again, have given up and hoping the forum can straighten me out.

I have Windows 2003 with IIS6.  I've installed DNN5.1 and Host->Settings tells me :

Note: You are running on an old version of the .NET Framework. Future upgrades of the DotNetNuke platform will require .NET 3.5 SP1 or later.

I have .net 3.5 SP1 installed on the system.  MY IIS6 ASP.NET specifies the ASP.NET Version as 2.0.50727 .

My understanding is that .NET 3.0 and 3.5 are not separate frameworks - they are handled by th 2.0 Framework , so I will never see .NET 3.5 as an option here, even though it is installed on the system.

So, how do I tell either IIS or DNN to run under the 3.5 version of .NET?

Thanks,

Mike

the message is slightly misleading as it trys to detect both the system.core and system.data.linq 3.5 libraries - this was fixed in 5.1.1 . I recommend you consider adding in the system.data.linq refrences to your web.config
