Due to some requirements of an application (too long to explain) I would create this case:

1) create a custom .aspx page (not DNN based) that prompts the user to enter some data - this page could also be stored in DNN web app path, eventually in a dedicated directory

2) when the user submits the page, store the data in DNN environment, let's say in Session variables, then redirect automatically to DNN home page

3) later, retrieve the Session variables in DNN modules

Since I'm new to DNN, can somebody help me?

You can add the page into the solution without too much difficulty, usually.

However, I would recommend that you use session carefully, as if your system grows it doesn't necessarily scale as well as you would hope.

Hi

I am not sure  about the 2 point where your application just redirects to  DNN home page.  If the custom  page resides on the separate directory i would call that page or   You can integrate extenal application to DNN  as follows

1. create your asp.net custom page in a  separate  application folder.

2.  Assuming your external application page works fine  now you can integrate that page to DNN.

3. Add a new page to your DNN application. You can use a IFrame Module   on this page. Go to Edit Frame and location to an external resource ( your custom page .aspx ).  You can handle variable using querystrings.  You may Need to explore more on the Querystring parameters.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks

Vijay
