I have a DNN 5.2 site. I don't allow user registration or logins except for the host and admin accounts. I have to figure out how to do the following things.

1. Hide the registration link for each portal that doesn't allow user registration

2. Hide the login link unless the host or admin go to a certain page on the site (a hidden page not available in the menu bar).

How would I do this?

1.  Admin, Site Settings....Registration Settings(?)....set it to None.  The Register token will not display.

2.  You'd have to remove the Login token from the skin that is being used (the ASCX file).  Admins can use ?ctl=login at the end of the address to the site to access the login.  Another option is to modify the style of the Login token so that the text color is the same as the background color.

Hiding the Registration Link is easy - simply go to your Portals site settings, click Advanced Settings, and under "User Registration" select none.

Hiding the login link though is a little trickier, AFAIK. I would do this by using 2 different .ascx skin files.

  1. The user skin would have the [LOGIN] token removed so you simply can't log in
  2. The skin for the page you want admin to log in from would have the Login Token, but would not be included in the menu. I would then use an addon like Ventrian's friendly URLs so you can access the page like so: www.mywebsite.com/loginpage.aspx instead of www.mywebsite.com/loginpage/tabid/118/default.aspx

There might be an easier way though...
