.net 2.0 not being in IIS is the main clue

check the msdn site about re-registering the asp.net with iis. it's a well known problem

ok, when i said i had it running before,, it was,, on anouther connection...

i now have verison fios,, super fast, but blocks port 80.. i have opened a remote to it, but that will not help the site from running on port 80. so at this point i have other issues to attend to to make this work. i have a dynamic custom dns service and i have to make this all work before i can progress. i found this all out this morning. (DSL worked fine for the hosting)

last night i reinstalled the application services and ddn 4.00.3 and i still cannot connect to the site locally.. but for now im dead in the water until i can fix everything else. im willing to pay someone to connect and fix the site once i have the dns fixed. know anyone?

I just worked through this, on a brand new 2003 server.  Here is what you need to do... please forgive me if I didn't understand your problem properly...

(1) Make sure you aren't mixing 2.0 an 1.1 sites within your application pool, I read this somewhere.

(2) Go into IIS 6.0, expand the "web service extension" box located right under the default web sites, etc.  Then make sure that the ASP.NET 1.1 and/or 2.0 status is set to "allowed."  Then your sites will magically appear

YA, the aplication pool..

i belive this is where most of my problems are from..

Right now i am taking my time with this to ensure that i have the rest of the server operating properly.. i will then start work again on the ddn.. it was nothing but problems for me so im not in a big rush to attempt it again, right away.. like i said, this thing should just run, so there is somthing wrong with the server or services(application pool).. im gonna read more on the application pool stuff so that i fully understand it, then attempt again..

thanks for your response!!
