ok guys - i can't seem to get this to work on ANY of my controls...

Lets take one example, tho i can repeat it on any number of modules -

I have a "news & events" page that has a standard DNN announcements module.  when i first enabled syndication, we had about four articles.  Since then, we've deleted two and added one.  The syndication feed STILL SHOWS the two announcements we deleted, and won't show the one we added.  Its been about 12 hours - so any issues with caching should be LONG LONG gone.

Now - i've tried this same thing with the event module, and no joy - it just doesn't update!

I've tried playing with the @objectcache directive in RSS.aspx and still - no joy.

Any ideas?

I spoke with another developer who complained about this - I think it has something to do with the scheduler turned off on DotNetNuke site so it's not updating the links automatically.  This developer can't get any of his articles from DNN to update at all and they show dates back in March so he's a bit frustrated too.

I will ask a core team developer who might be in the know to give a correct answer.  Sorry about his.

Thanks nina...

here's what i've done since then... I found a little program that will let me view and clearn the app and file cache.  I ran it on my dnn app and it still didn't update...

Also, after reading your post, I went in to the scheduler and looked... it is running fine... just DotNetNuke.Services.Cache.PurgeCache was turned off... I enabled it.  It ran... and still no joy.

Can't wait to hear the answer to this one... 'cause i sure as heck can't find where it is getting cached.. :)

Thanks!

Chavous

It's not your scheduler - it's the DotNetNuke one - as far as I know - and I've just installed the RSS feed (testing a new skin) and the latest news date I've just picked up from the xml feed from this site is March 27, 2006.

It's not you - which is a nice change!

Hi nina - any update from the core team?  I hate to be a pest, but we're bringing a site live in a week and I'd really like to have this working as part of it...  Makes the homepage a LOT cleaner (instead of having the full news listed, i can have it just list headlines and a few sentences, with a link to the actual news page)...

Whats the chance of getting a fix for it before then?  If the answer is "not good" just say so and I'll leave ya be... I understand the way development projects go...

THanks,

Chavous
