Is it possible to achieve Footer Sitemaps for DNN such as ones in http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ and http://www.apple.com/us etc.

Yes, it all boils down to simple HTML/CSS regardless of the underlying server technology (DNN in this case).

Check out PokerDIY.com - the guys at ThinkOfDesign did my skin and I am incredibly happy with it (the CSS is so streamlined and efficient ;)

Any designer worth their salt should be able to make a footer like that.

Thanks for the reference to your site Rodney, impressive work i must say.... well atleast now have to dig up some article regarding skinning and should be able to achieve such look :)

If you plan on doing it yourself I would dissect an existing one to see how they do it.

For example - grab the Mozilla HTML footer and CSS and play around with it - it's generally List CSS and some fancy borders/shading.

From a DNN POV I use 3 different Textboxes on All Pages (when I want to customize it per page I remove it from a page and add a new one) - I think these types of footers are great for SEO and human usability...
