Search Studio Inc. is an Internet business consulting firm operating in Ontario, Canada. We develop and host portals/websites for the local Small to Medium Business market.

We are looking to partner with or contract to, a company for ongoing technical support of our dedicated server and our client sites which are all DotNetNuke deployments.

Our dedicated server is the B200 series hosted with MaximumASP.

You would be working via Remote Desktop Connection

Server Quick Specs

Dual XEON's, 1 gig ram
Win2K3, SQL 2K
Additional optional sql processor licenses (2)

This is what we need.

MUST HAVE SKILLS!
- Strong communication, documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong knowledge of managing all aspects of Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000, IIS 6 and DotNetNuke 3.x in a hosted production environment.
- Proactive! You will consult with us on best practices and give expert advice

Scope of Work:

Complete Support and Maintenance of our dedicated server including:

DOTNETNUKE VERSION 3.1.1 (YES WE ARE STAYING RIGHT THERE FOR NOW - WORKS GREAT and HARDLY EVER CRASHES)

  • currently running dnn 3.1.1 under asp.net 1.1
  • host level troubleshooting, problem resolution, module error issue resolution
  • 3rd party module installation, upgrading, troubleshooting, testing on our beta dotnetnuke install before deployment to production environment
  • new portal/website setups, installations and configurations and troubleshooting
  • portal backups and restores if and when needed (sql databases, dnn portals, single dnn sites...)
  • SQL Server 2000 backup and restoration, troubleshooting, and maintenance administration.
  • Windows Server 2003, IIS backups and restores, new site setups (well..adding domain to host header)
  • Server Security Management - IIS 6, SQL, DNN

You MUST be at least as GOOD as Me... if not better.

To give you an idea of how I operate, what's expected and what's an acceptable delivery time, check out www.soobrantford.com.

I did that last night (Sunday Apr 23) and it took me 5 hours total.

In that time I:

- registered soobrantford.com and modified the name servers
- added the domain name to the host header
- created a new portal with the domain alias
- assigned a skin and container set
- setup all the pages and placed 2 text modules on each page as content place holders
- created the role hierarchy and secured each page (web content editor role added + given edit rights to pages)
- created private intranet with shared documents, inter-organization discussions and webmail access

If you are quicker than me and can do everything mentioned in this post.. I'm looking to hire you.
