Hi

Is there any information on when the DNN core Documents module is expected to achieve at least W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliance?  I understood the DNN core and all core modules were working towards compliance but I can't find any information in the module roadmap, etc.?

More generally, what priority is being assigned to making all the core modules compliant?  It would be *very* useful (for SEO and client requirement reasons) if we could deploy a W3C compliant website with the full core module functionality (assuming a compliant skin is used).  Obviously 3rd party modules are a different matter.

Thanks in advance,

Lee.

on the downloads page (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx) you'll see that the list of latest module versions has an "xhtml valid" checkbox. This allows  users to know if their public facing views are are xhtml transitional (we do not mandate that private admin controls are xhtml valid at this point in time). The latest documents release (04.01.00) is valid. I recommend you read the project lead (Mitchel Sellers) blog @ blogs.dotnetnuke.com for any relevant updates

Lee,

As Cathal mentioned the current version of the Documents module is XHTML compliant for all rendered content.  This is a goal, that WILL be acheived with all future releases, we are actually going through the process now of finalizing the next release of the module which includes many new features, all while still maintaining the XHTML compliance.

Thanks Mitch, Cathal.

We are running Documents 4.1.0 on DNN 5.1.2.  However, we had imported the portal from an old DNN 4.9.2 instance.  Adding a new Documents module to another page and adding the documents to it did indeed result in XHTML validation so it must have been the import process that actually caused the problem.

Thanks for your help,

Lee.
