Hi,

I'm running into a strange issue where, after logging in as a Host or Admin I'm unable to edit a module's settings.  I wish I could attach a screen shot, but basically what happens is that the 'down-arrow' displays an animated graphic as if an AJAX control is grabbing info from the database.  This happens under IE8 and Firefox 3, but it just came apparent a couple of days ago.

The server is on a virtual test system and I have been working on developing skins.  I don't believe I've deleted any essential files, I've only made copies of the MinimalEntropy skin in a different folder, and the root site uses the MinimalEntropy skin.

Has anyone else run into this issue before?

Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Meister1867

Have you tried a different(stock) container?

I haven't tried a different (stock) container.  However, the issue was getting to the point that I gave up and reinstalled DNN.  But, I did notice that when I reinstalled it again, I was having similar (not the same) issues.  IE was indicating that there was a Javascript error.  I found this all very strange... my localhost install on my Vista machine was fine, but the virtual Win2003 was having issues.

On the new install I ended up granting permissions to other users that would be typically in a .NET app, such as the IIS user.  After giving full control, everything began working.  I'm still perplexed what happened though.  It was working fine until recently.  As long as it's working for now though.

IUser requires read access to scripts folder, this might have been missing.
