While reading articles on The Register this morning I came across an article which may well be of interest to many DNN developers.
Its about an MS programme designed to support web dev businesses employing less than 10 people.

"If accepted into the program, developers get access to various Microsoft Web design and development tools, including three licenses for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition, two licenses for Microsoft Expression Web 3, and one license for Microsoft Expression Studio 3. And for deployment, they get two production licenses for Windows Web Server 2008 or R2 (when it's available) and two production licenses for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Web Edition"

Register article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/09/24/microsoft_websitespark/

MS Link: http://www.microsoft.com/web/websitespark/

Seems aimed at the sorts of business many DNN coders run.

We (Brisinger Group) are members of BizSpark (that is the official name for this program) and it is a wonderful program and offers many benefits beyond the free software.  They offer services, networking, promo opportunities, etc (and of course, free software). I recommend it to anyone that qualifies.

Been looking at this for a week or two, still had the tab open. Only reason not joined yet is the site had a problem when I tried.

actually there are 3 *spark programmes - dreamspark (for students), bizspark (for startups) and websitespark (launched today - for small business's). The websitespark program looks like a very handy one for lone developers/small shops. Scott guthrie blogged on it earlier @ http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2009/09/24/announcing-the-websitespark-program.aspx
