Hi All,

I have got purchased BlueStack MyControl from BlueStack Software Solutions, and I'm currentlyt esting it with DNN 5.1.x - FYI: BlueStack MyControl allows to stack/embed your own custom controls into this control's instance inserted into a DNN page as a module. I tested how it works with custom assemblies placed in DNN's \Bin folder  - it worked well, I have also tested how it works with ASP.NET Ajax extensions - it seems to work well. Still quite a few to test with it here...

Question: Do you see any "hidden/side-effect" issues with such an approach with stacked custom control? Should that way dynamically embeeded controls skin well using DNN standard skinning approach?

Thank you.

Hi Shamil,

We have used MyControl for numerous custom deployments and we have yet to see any limitations on what you can do with the controls inside of it.

The module is designed to work directly with your control so that it is not changed in any way.  Therefore anything you can do with a normal control inside an .aspx page should also work with MyControl.

Hopefully this answers your question, we are glad you are enjoying MyControl!

Thank you, for your reply and your useful module, BlueStack,

In fact your module seems to be a "Godsend" for my current DNN project, which has quite a few advanced custom forms communicating with back-end database: I have found that developing these forms using available DNN commercial modules (which I have purchased) is a bit tricky, to say a few. And developing custom DNN modules to support my customer forms - I have tried that and I have found that it's a more tricky than I can afford now as the project timelines are tight and budget is limited, and as developing custom DNN modules needs some time to master. And being experienced ASP.NET developer I can use your module to "just inject" my custom ASP.NET controls, which I can develop and test within test-bed ASP.NET solution...

Thank you.
