I'm just going through DNN5 having upgraded a test instance (just some 3rd party modules to resovle then all done!)

One thing I had thought was done in this was to add a deniable option to the module permissions but I can't see this. It really was something I was looking forward to for real control over what modules users see. Is it in there somewhere and I've missed it?

It has me wondering... what are the real changes you think help make it all worthwhile?  Are there things to help with the administration of DNN and it's Portals, maybe some things that change the user experience too?

Curious to hear what real-world benefits people have been experiencing.

form admin/host perspective, there are the following improvements:

  • Admin modules are treated like ordinary modules and can be placed on any page (though settings have not been enhanced yet to provide proper configuration options)
  • Publish permission for any module definition allows to specify, who is able to place which module on a page (Admin :: Extensions)
  • Deniable permissions for pages, modules and folders (klick permission twice to deny)
  • Versioning and (optional) approval in HTML module (like "Effority Workflow" module for DNN4), workflow for PE version
  • Improved EventLog (V 5.1.3+)
  • form and List module (successor of UDT)
