I have a site that I have been asked to make multi lingual so have installed the french language pack

I now have 2 flags at the top of my site for English and French, as can be seen here: http://www.ams-online.net

My problem is that when I click the French flag, the menu turns French but the page remains English until I click on one of the menu items.

How can I make the site reload the page content in the appropriate language?

TIA

How is your mulilanguage solution configured?.

I saw that you site is generating an EN or FR string as part of the URL just after the domain name, also the en-US and fr-FR language pairs are being generated.

Are u using different child portals for each language?.. if the anwer is yen then you need to enable only one language per child site and the language selector must be a simple link to the other child site.

The language behavior in DNN is designed to change the language in the same portal

The site is configured as a single portal with a high level menu item for each language as shown below:

en

...Home

...Consulting

... etc

fr

...Maison

...Cabinet-conseil

... etc

I'm using DNN version 5.0.0 and have both browser language detection and language parameter in URL's enabled.

please be informed, that this is a configuration, which is not supported by DNN out of the box, though there might be a number of 3rd party modules allowing for this setup (w/o switching thread UI culture).

Hi,

Please take a look at our free localization extensions. It is exactly what you need and will work out of the box with your site structure:

You can use our forums if you need help with our extensions.
