New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.

I was checking out the documentation page on DNN site. Here are some notes:

- Put a release date for each documentation so we know how 'fresh' the information is.

- Looks like the documentation is still from 2006. Why doesn't DNN make editatable DOC formats available so the community can update these documents and the corp just deo the QA?

- The "Miscellaneous Documents" section. There's nothing updated for DNN 5.0.

Are contributions from the community that scarce or the corp has trouble absorbing them?

Since you asked the question you get the challenge:  What do you have to contribute?  :)

On the rest of it, there is (is it still happening) a Wiki in process to help with this.  There is also the Help system (Prominet link at the top right of this page...).  DNNAngel has complete docs available, though not free, for current versions.  There are also books available.  Some documentation has been updated, but not everything has changed since 2006.

And of course, the forums or blogs for each module are still the best place to find documentation.

Put the docs online and we'll pick.

I don't want to buy books. I don't want to buy commercial documentation (I guess someone found a business opportunity here)  and I don't want to scatter by brains in blogs, forums, a bithere and a bit there. That's the problem with DNN in the first place.

Don't you believe in proper documentation available at the vendor?

On this site there is a Documentation link under the Support link.

If that is not enough, you will want to buy one of the books avaliable.
