The answers should be changed to directly state the range (1 to 50 sites) but there isn't an "in between". Either you're a "newb", you know of DNN and use it often or your pro. With so many modules available, having 20 is the same as having one. But if you have over 50 then that places you into a different category. No?
To truly represent real life it would not be possible to use categories since everyone is so different and there are far too many factors to consider. So we first need to create imaginary categories that would define most people. Otherwise the quiz would have millions of questions and far too many categories to make this fun. Who wants to answer millions of questions? So it should be quick and simple to be fun.
If you add more values to choose from then you would need to add more score range definitions. What would that definition be? Who exactly is that person that you want to be defined by this quiz? Who is the "11 to 25" and "26 to 50" you want to add and would this truly add to the enjoyment or take away from the fun?
Right now, there are three definitions:
- 0 - 50 You don't know DotNetNuke at all or you just started to use it. Created one site, have not purchased any modules, don't know the correct origin of DNN, don't know what a web.config is, have not purchased any skins and have no clue what a skin object is.
- 51 - 120 You are an average user of DNN. Perhaps a little newbish or even almost obsessed with DNN but you're not a full blown obsessed DNNer yet. You have purchased no more than 10 modules, have one site (as in one DNN installation, maybe you have multiple portals), may know the origin of DNN, may not know to update the web.config on upgrades, purchased a few skins and may know what a skin object is.
- 121+ You know DotNetNuke well and are a master of it. You have well over 50 modules, have created more than 50 sites, may have actually started with the IBuySpy version, have upgraded DNN many times, have over 10 skins and know exactly what a skin object is (perhaps even modified several skins with different skin objects).
Keep in mind that the goal is to place you in a category that defines your relationship with DotNetNuke and the result is for you personally. This is not something that would be used to gage what people want, where they are and where they are going next on a global level. You would need a survey for that and there actually is a survey you can take from the same page - click here.
Also keep in mind that I am not defending this quiz in any way. It definitely needs help and I’m having fun talking with people about this. So let’s make this better, what new ranges and questions should we add or how should existing ranges be changed?
