Information is just coming out about pirating allegations against AliCommerce.  Besides the documentation posted by BVCommerce at http://www.bvsoftware.com/alicommerce/default.aspx, there is the notable disappearance of the alicommerce website which in my non-legal but suspicious mind points to guilt.  Although there is another post regarding this in the forums, I wanted to grab the attention of anyone who has purchased from AliCommerce for two reasons.

1.  If AliCommerce has been stealing code, I would be worried about my private credit card information as well.

2.  It looks like the owner of BVCommerce would like to have those who were sold the fake e-commerce solution to register on his site so he can keep them updated on the situation.  It looks like he would like to help those who were scammed move to a legal solution.

Normally, I wouldn't act on spreading information that hasn't been proven as true but it doesn't look good even at this early stage.  Hopefully, this post will catch the attention of those who purchased from AliCommerce so they can figure out what to do next.  I'm just a little freaked out because I was going to purchase from them in another month or so...

The best news is that Marcus has indicated a committment in bringing BVCommerce over to DNN.

Not so encouraging news about a BVCommerce module for DNN - this just received from Marcus McConnell:

"We've had to put our DNN work on hold for the moment due to the announcement that DNN will not be moving to ASP.NET MVC. Our plan was to integrate our next BV Commerce version (which will be MVC) with DNN but I'm not sure that will be possible. We're taking a step back to evaluate our options right now. I wouldn't expect a DNN cart from us anytime in the next few months."
