I have noticed that my .net nuke sites run really slowly when I first go to them. I assume this has something to do with caching of the website but when I run a speed test the initial response times were around 15-20 seconds. As the site is not going to be used 24-7 I need to ensure that response times are quick every time the site is visited. I have looked into the configuration files but im not sure how best to configure it. I have this problem with other sites too

At the moment the site has all the default settings.

the site in question is www.smrheatingservices.co.uk

I assume, the IIS app pool of the site get's recycled after 20 minutes of inactivity (default); you may remove this setting or use a tracking service to ping your site every 15 minutes, e.g. host-tracker.com or mon.itor.us
