I am considering converting an existing popular website to DNN 5. My main concern is preserving the popular Google ranking (site is 14 years old). I am thinking that the way to accomplish this is to keep the same URLs for the pages, especially since there are lots of site externally linking in to subpages.

It looks like Friendly URLs may get you only part way. iFinity Url Master may get you a little farther. But what about the new URL rewriter module for IIS 7? Is this the answer to my problem? Anyone have any experience with this (nothing shows on Google searches)?TIA.

Yes i use it for my company's corporate web site. If you have the control over your webserver then yes this is a inexpensive alternative to  Ifinity URL master and you can preserve page ranks by putting in permanent redirects of your old urls to your new urls with rewrite maps. Can do much more with it,  excellent tool. You can also check out ifinity friendly url provider(free) for url manipulation in dnn.
