I would like to show only "latest forum posts" on my website home page. Any idea what would be the best way to proceed?

It seems there is no pre-define module already available for this. Or, there is one out there?

If I have to build my own module, what would be the best starting point? There was a post which mention to start with "Whats New module". I could not find this module on DNN  site. Please let me know.

Thanks.

You can download "Latest Posts" extension for the forums module from www.dnnforums.com.

For something like this I can highly recommend OpenWebStudio so you can have full control over what is displayed, how it's displayed, and to what users.

It's free opn source DNN development software and a sample 'Latest Forum Posts' configuration is available for import here.

The latest posts mod seems like something i could use, but it says it requires forum 4.5.3 and im currently running 4.4.3 and due to lately complications with modules that crashed my entire site, i have to ask if anyone have had any problems in upgrading the forum to v. 4.5.3 e.g all existing content was deleted or invisible after upgrading etc.?

Is there at least to make some sort of backup of the existing forum content so that i can go back to v. 4.4.3 and restore my content in case it all fails?
Im running portal version 4.8.4. and im running on a remote host so ive got db access with MS SQL server studio 2008 as well as normal ftp access on the webroot.

Thx in advance!
