Hi,

I'm currently developing modules for DNN 4.x in Visual Studio 2005 which uses .Net Framework 2.0.

I wish to install Visual Studio 2008 and begin to start using it in order that I can familiarize myself with some of it's new features.

Can I open up and work on my modules in Visual Studio 2008 without the risk of it automatically upgrading my modules or the source version of DNN to .NET 3.5?

I dont mind not having access to the new features when working on my DNN 4.x stuff, I just want to work within a single version of Visual Studio.

Is there anything I have to do with my DNN installation (e.g. web.config file) in order to work within Visual Studio 2008? (I'm guessing by the description of this forum that its possible).

Thanks,

Norman

make sure, to be targeting ASP.Net 2.0 when opening the solution, otherwise your web.config might get upgraded.

Besides, the .sln file will be modified and cannot be used any longer with VS2005.

Hi,

Having not moved to VS2008 yet - do you have to target 2.0 prior to opening the solution or do you get prompted when as you open the solution? Also when you say that the .sln will be modified, is that irrespective of which version of the framework you open (i.e. once you open a solution in VS2008 then you can't go back to 2005)?

Thanks
