Hi

I created a custom module in 4.9.4 using the Starter Kit and was able to package it up using the instructions in http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/DNN_PackageModule/ProtectingYourModule.htm to precompile the website and then add in the DLLs and remove source code from the manifest and ZIP files

However, in 5.1.1, this method doesn't appear to work and when I import the module the DNN is looking for the source code files. Does anyone have the method for 5.1.1?

TIA

Julian

It appears that I need to create a WAP (Web Application Project) in VS for my module rather than use a WSP (Web Site Project) like the Starter Kit.

I am still struggling with this so any pointers would be useful

Hi Julian - I too am struggling with this one. I have followed the whitepaper but it doesn't seem to work. I have downloaded their example ZIP file and did an install using it which did seem to work correctly.

But the problem I get is the same as you where it attempts to look for the .vb files even though the DLL files have been defined.

You need to create the module as a precompiled project using the dot net nuke templates. Then you can use the module packager on the module definition module
