Hi!

I'm solving one task about access restriction.
Users from IPs listed in preconfigured list of IPs should have read-only access to site and should have access to registration page.
Users from IPs not listed in preconfigured list of IPs should have read-only access to login page only.

Is it possible? What is the convinient way to make this?

this requires at least modifications of the skin (hiding the login and register control) or the skin objects.

Hi,

we just released a new security module, which deals specifically with your needs:

http://www.aricie.com/en/modules/portal-keeper.aspx (30 daysTrial available, Ventrian like subscriptions)

Our module allows to define access policies according to the users IP addresses or the Portal alias

You can put the following restrictions:

  • Access disallowed for superusers or a list of portal roles (automatic logoff and custom redirection)
  • Overriden Registration Mode (which is what you're looking for)
  • View mode only

Thanks for your answer.

But I hope that this feature could be implemented without change in visualisation. I think that usage of non-visual objects can handle such behavior.

Maybe provider-based decision solve my problem?

You may have a look at our module for a solution, which does not involve any change to the UI.

It installs a HttpModule, which intercepts all incoming requests, and update the DNN environment accordingly.
