What install method are you using?  Auto install or wizard?

Does the installer finish, or is this displayed as the installer is working

I was reading the book professional dotnetnuke 4.0, i am using the install package downloaded from here, followed the steps, but like i said, the configuration wizard is browsing really slow and like i mentioned before, it crashs with the error...

What you mean by "autoinstall" ? In my case i already have a hosting company that offer dotnetnuke as a plugin, so i can use it there (not sure about the version they offer, it is webhost4life), but anyway, i want to try everything locally, since i am new to portals in generals and dotnetnuke in particular, i want to see the potential before doing building a site with it.

Thanks
