 Hi guys,

I already installed the ealo localization portal and it works excellent on the default DNN 5 skin(MinimalExtropy). The problem is when I bought skin for one my Multi-language portal I'm currently creating. After the installattion of the skin the language of the menu doesn't change. The problem comes from the skin. In the readme.txt is written to change old tag

                        <dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" ... /> with

new tag

                      <dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="dnnNAV" ProviderName="EfforityMenuNavigationProvider" ... />

but in the myskin.ascx  I can't find this tags. On their place I only find this tag: <dnn:CSSMENU runat="server" id="dnnCSSMENU" Scope="-1" ShowAdmin="True" IncludeSubMenus="True" HidePageNames="True" ShowPageIcons="True"  Orientation="H" Mode="S" MenuId="cssmenu" /> and the problem comes from the skinobject. Do you have any idea how to change the tag?!?!

Best regards,

sharky

EALO is able to substitute DNN default menu system. if you are using a 3rd party menu system in your skin, you need to get localization support for it yourself.

Hi,

Please take a look at our localization extensions, which will enable ML content support, and works with most 3rd party menus:

please be aware that there are different localization approaches - some (like the Adequation one) use separate portal branches - others even separate portals - per language, while EALO, Locopon and Apollo use same pages and modules, showing appropriate content. While both approaches are valid, they may result in different maintenance effort - I am currently extending a site, which was originally planned in 1 language with 2 extra languages having a 4 pages only - but now this gets extended to 10 languages with 8 pages each and this became a nightmare of work

i.e. if you want (mainly) the same content in multiple languages, I strongly suggest to use one of the "true" ML versions.

Using what Sebastian refers to as "true ML solutions" are highly limitative if you plan to use built-in features and save on custom development :

- they require the use of ML enabled modules, which which excludes most, if not all of DNN core modules, and most 3rd party modules
- they have really limited menu support, which means they cannot be used with purchased skins out of the box
- they use custom techniques and custom screens to configure by-locale value

Our solution does not have any of these limitations.
