When I attempt to use this module on my Intratnet I get the following error:

Could Not Connect To http://feeds.orlandosentinel.com/orlandosentinel/news/local/lake. You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly.

I know that the feed is good because I have it on some external readers.  However, whenever I have tried to use this News reader to read RSS feeds from outside our network, I get this error.  I can consume the feed from our external web server, but that is only because although it is outside of our network it is still technically inside as well.

Solutions that I have tried to solve this issue are to try various RSS feeds on our intranet and internet web servers to check the validity of the problem.  It is consistent on both servers.  I have also tried changing the Trust Level for the site temporarily to Full as a test to see if my Trust Level is the problem.  It is normally set at Medium.  Following the changeing of the Trust Level, I restart IIS to ensure that the Trust Level loads properly.  Neither solution worked for me.

What else can I do to troubleshoot and/or fix this problem?  I would really like to use this module.

I also am receiving this error. I did the following to cause the error:

  1. Set up a blog for our board members
  2. Syndicated the most recent entries section of the blog
  3. Clicked on the RSS button to display the XML and copied the url for use in the newsfeed
  4. Added a newsfeed to another page and used the url as the feed.

Voila, the error appears. I actually have not been able to display information from any of my site modules in a newsfeed.

I do have the weather and a newsfeed from external sources working fine. Is there a setting on the hosting machine or the proxies that needs to be entered to make this work?

I have the same issue too. I'm in a shared environment, and I'm not sure I can convince my host to make changes to their host file just because I have a single module that won't work.

I've looked through their support forums, and there are no signs that points to any problems with getting rss feeds to show in general - only in DNN.

Is it really my host environment that is misconfigured, or could it be the News module that is being a little "unreasonable"?
