Hi,

I have a custom field that I've defined to the Profile Properties.

I did this by going here -> User Account -> Manage Profile Properties -> Add New Profile Property

I'd like to know where (table, field) this field is stored.  The goal is to use this value in a SQL statement to get user specific info from an external database.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

The information for the field is stored in the ProfilePropertyDefinition table, and then for each user in the UserProfile table.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I think I have the join figured out bertween the tables.  I neglected to add an important aspect of the question:  Is there a way to retrieve the current user?  I'd like to use the system properly, rather than use a "hack" that I just stumbled onto.

Again; thanks in advance,

-Mark

Where do you want to retrieve the current user from?

The HTML module supports Tokens, which allow you to pull profile attributes into the html content of your site, is that what you're trying to do?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your reply,

What I'm trying to do is to have a user log in, and when the user logs in, a query is run that has the user's customer number in the WHERE clause of the SQL statement.  The database with customer data is on a different box than the DNN install.

I currently have a static query contained in an SQL statement within the Report module.  However, I don't know how to pass the user-specific information to the query.

Do you have any recommendations?

In addition, when I get this part working, I'd like to be able to have the results be able to create hyperlinks to documents specific to the customer's profile.

Please let me know what direction I can/should take.

Thanks in advance,

Mark
