So what I did is I created a new login page called Login.aspx, then I set it as the default login page without putting any modules on it, so naturally I couldn't get in. So I just added default.aspx?ctl=login to get in and then changed the login page back to the default (<None specified>) and then deleted the page Login.aspx.

So it now should go back to the default right? It DOESNT! If I navigate to www.mysite.com/default.aspx or just www.mysite.com it gives me a redirect loop error, BUT if I do www.mysite.com/default.aspx?ctl=login it redirects me to the right page, the default login page. So what I did is checked in the database to make sure the LoginTabID was set NULL in the database. which it is. It still doesn't work without putting that ctl=login on the end manually.

Interestingly, when I restore the login.aspx from the recycling bin and DONT change the default login page and leave it as None Specified it redirects automatically to the login.aspx when I navigate to www.mysite.com.

Any ideas? This has melted my brain :(

Matthew,

Just an idea here, delete the page, then delete it from the recycle bin, and it should work as expected.

If this does, please log it as a bug in Gemini (support.dotnetnuke.com) for your respective DNN version.

Thanks for your reply Mitch,

I had two pages named Login in the recycling bin, I think that's why it was in a redirect loop bouncing between the two, so I don't think I should report it as a bug, it's a problem between my chair and my keyboard (ME!) :)

I solved it by deleting both pages and then from the recycling bin.

Thanks a lot, and then some!
