Hi,

Have created the website using DNN is working fine.

I have couple of questions.

Have update any contents in local build, than give the url to testing team,  the testing team check the local build and report to me.

i have updated the same content changes once in live.

So, have to work and test in 2 times for same content updations in local and live build.

1. How can avoid repeated work?

2. How can review live build before publish?

3. have to restore the local build DB to Live Build DB?

Thanks & Regards,

Velmurugan S

you can perform all your changes locally and transfer files and database on to the live server - as long, as no user content is stored on the life server as well (e.g. in Forums). Always treat files and database as a unit.

Usually I would agree with Sebastian, but I would advise against using this method except in an emergency. (ie you need to restore your site for some reason) As Sebastian pointed out if there is content on the live server that doesn't exist on the dev then you will lose it.  Even if you first copy prod DB to dev , make changes and then copy back there is a chance you will miss something.  Not to mention it can be time consuming.

What I would suggest for content updates is to create some hidden tabs on your prodution site (accessable only to content admins) where you can load content and view it.  Then you can either copy the content to the correct location or even move the module to the correct page.
