Greetings All!

I have a user defined table.  I have the "visible" attribute for a few columns set to false.  The columns do not render in the grid.  When I am logged in as a user with edit permission on the grid AND"Display All Columns" for that uses role is set to false, the user is still able to edit those values that have visible set to false?  Is this by design?  Is there any way to not allow a user to edit columns that are set to visible?

yes, this is by design. form and List (successor of User Defined Table for DNN5) has an extra attribute to hide fields in edit form.

Thank you for the reply.  Upgrading to 5.0 is not an option for us at the moment so I have to use the user defined table.  Where in the code behind is the edit form built?  I would like to modify it to allow for these permissions by looking at which columns are visible.

Kind Thanks,

-Andy
