I am trying to submit my sitemap to Google using the integrated Site Marketing feature in DNN.

I have an account with Google and Google provide me with the verification code.

I enter it into the Verification field (DNN), click create, click Submit (DNN).

This then takes me to Google webmaster central, I click to verify site ownership and then I get the following:

We weren't able to verify your site: http://www.lumaautomotive.ca/.

Does anyone know what is happening or more important why it is not working.

Previous versions of DNN worked fine. I am doing something wrong now?

Thanks

Carmine

they changed their format or DNN format doesn't properly fit the predefined format.

Simply download HTML file provided by google and upload in root folder of your DNN installation (where your web.config resides).

Thank you very much, that worked and it was that easy.

Have a great day.

I ran into this earlier today myself. Simply, the file DNN creates has a bunch of extraneous information whereas the file Google wants you to use only has one line:

google-site-verification: FILENAME.html

FILENAME being the name of the HTML file it's inside of.

Otherwise, Google will puke on it.

The above fix works fine though.
