My site (www.awas.com) isn't displaying properly in IE8, so I did some research and concluded that I needed to add the following at the top of the of my Default.aspx file:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7">

 I tried this on my local testing site and it works fine, but when I copy the updated Default.aspx file to my server I have the same problem.

I have made sure that my IE 8 Compatibility View Settings don't make special allowances for my local site.

I'm a DNN novice - I've taken over this site from someone else who I now cannot contact.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 Hi Carl

 I am not sure that addition will work but in any case its probably better to fix the skin.

 IE8 is a bit picky about some css. Sometimes IE8  renders elements not fully defined with a different default to every other browser..
 The good news is that you have a decent skin with modern css.

 I had a quick look and can see the menu problem. It looks like the problem is in the leftNavigation class.
 Without seeing the skin and css is difficult to make any specific suggestion.

 I have seen this sort of error from a missing or un-needed clear float.
 You might try adding   vertical-align: top;   to this div's class.

 On the bright side - its a minor IE problem that should be quite easy to fix.

 Others here may be able to be more specific.

 Ian
