Hi all,

I am trying to do something very simple. I have created my own skin with a corresponding style sheet and when I use the style sheet to reference an image within the skins directory it works, however if I use an image tag i.e. <img src="./gifs/home_over.gif" /> the image will display in Dreamweaver, but as soon as view in a browser, I get the nasty big red cross!

Directory structure is ....... Portals\_default\Skins\MyTest\MyTest.ascx

The images are found in the gifs foulder withing the MyTest folder.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thank you,

--Steve

Hi Steve, there are a couple of things everyone needs to learn about skinning which is explained quite well in the skinning documents, but often hard to pick if you're not experiencing the actual problem at the moment.

You need to put in a skin path file - so that DotNetNuke can identify where the files are - it makes the skin portable - so you need to put this code into front of the image.  <%= SkinPath %>  So, it should then work. This is the correct format <%= SkinPath %>BluePix/XDMediaBlue.jpg

Try that and see how you go.

Hi Nina.

Excellent, that did the trick nicely! Thank you for the quick response.

My menu now looks shinny :)
