Do you need to use the starter kit if you have VS 2005?  I am looking to develop a module for just DNN4 and would like to know where to get started.

Ok, I have found more information but still have a question.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Accoring to THIS POST it works.  This means that it works for Visual Basic.  If you run the starter kit installation then create a new website and select VB as the language you will see "DotNetNuke Web Application Framework" under the "My Templates" section.

My programming language of choice is C#.  I thought that there were no bias when it came to choosing a development language.  Does anybody know how to get the same template for C#?

well actually it does not matter which language you use, it all depends on how you set it up.

In my development solution I only use the starter kit to "jump-start" dnn and rebuild it for the first time, and then later don't even open it.

This makes my module development un-restricted of the progamming language, because I can later build modules in which ever language I like.
