DotNetNuke Captcha is old and has it weaknesses to date. I'm suprise that there was little to none attention on providing a better option for users to use Re-captcha that at least has these advantanges:

  1. Captcha Voice Reading for visually impair person,
  2. Avoid the Captcha image being cached and never refresh in the page, especially using some AJAX / Heaving page caching module (PageBlaster for example)
  3. Easy to implement,
  4. Better Look,
  5. Continuous improvement,
  6. Contribution to digitalizing books.

I agree that this would be a very worthwile place to start enhancing the core functionality of DotNetNuke.

I think this needs to be bumped!

If the core could make Captcha a provider then we could plug and play with the one we wanted and all modules would share the same UI. I would definitely switch to reCaptcha (it depends on their license as to the default that the core would ship, but would be good to have the choice)...

I don't think anyone actually raised this in Gemini so here it is: http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/V...
