Hi,

Before these 4 steps, you would have to add live URL in Portal Aliases.
Now, you could replace test URL (which is stored in PortalAlias table in live database) by live URL.

Be carreful about caching mechanism which may redirect you to test URL during a moment.

Hope that helps you.

Prior to moving the site you should have added the url for the live site as an addiitonal Portal Alias (Host --> Site Settings --> Advanced Settings --> Portal Aliases --> Add New Alias). Alternatively, now that the site is moved and provided that you have access to the live site database, you may add a new row to the PortalAlias table specifying the same PortalId (most likely 0) and the new HTTPAlias (without the protocol http://). Delete the row for the development site.

The DotNetNuke Map module uses the "legacy" database connection string defined in the <appSettings> section of the installtion's web.config file. I suspect that this connection string was either not set correctly (it's value should match the primary connection string defined in the <connectionStrings> section) or it may be incorrectly commented out.
