My time zone is correct in the site settings.  When I make a change to a module or make add a file to the repository, the time is correct.

However, if I add dnnCurrentDate to a skin or if I add date:current token to Text/HTML module.. it's 6 hours off.

i.e. it's wrong.

I can't figure out how to get it to show the correct date.  I don't care if it shows the correct date/time for the individual user..  or if it shows the date/time of where the website is based.  It's just not consistent.. Does anyone know how to fix this?

To add more to the confusion... (p.s. using DNN 5.2.0)

I took the dnn:CurrentDate out of the skin because it's just not accurate for my purposes.

Now, the date:current token works for unauthenticated users... but after logging in, the date is wrong again by 1 day.

When I had both dnn:CurrentDate skin object AND the date:current token on the same page... it was off on both instances.

Very strange. Logged in gemini.

And like that, I figured it out!

I noticed the time was different when i logged in as host vs. other account.

Each account can specify their own time zone.... in "Manage Profile"

you are right, time is adjusted to preferred user timezone, specified in user profile, while anonymous users get default time zone from site settings. There are known issues with a number of modules, if portal timezone differs from server time zone.
