I've got a clean install of DNN 3.1 and we're hoping to use the gallery to make a stock of various media files more widely available.

A couple of questions:

1) how should the watermark be configured ?  I can see an enable watermark option in the configuration screen, but surely it needs an image or some text supplied somewhere.....where ?

2) as far as I can see you've implemented the ISearchable interface and the GetSearchItems (using PopulateSearch) as per the documentation....yet I never get any search results for items in the gallery module.  Is this a gallery problem or a DNN problem ?  More importantly, is there a fix ?

Varp

Watermark

  • Add any image into album
  • Change title of that image => "watermark"
  • watermark can be applied to each album, if an album doesn't contain watermark image it will inherit watermark from parent album (if exists)

Gallery Search

Galley module uses search feature of the core, however in previous version there is typo mistake in Business Controll Class of the module, so it did not work correctly. Check SQL table DesktopModules, find "Gallery" record then check value of BusinessControlClass field, it should read

DotNetNuke.Modules.Gallery.Controller, DotNetNuke.Modules.Gallery

This bug was corrected in source control

Thanks for the speedy response Tam.

Having checked the DesktopModules table I find that I've already corrected this; my entry is identical to what you've posted; yet I still don't see any results from the gallery module in my searches...

The only other way my version differs from the download is the fix for the Maintenance.ascx file (Gallery_HeaderText -> HeaderText).

It's running on XP Pro/IIS 5/MSDE at the moment...

Anything else I could try ?

Just as an experiment I also tried using Windows Authentication on the portal as well.

The Gallery is very unhappy about this, and the module will not even load to the page.

I know this is probably way outside the bounds of an easy support question, however I thought you'd like to know Tam.

I can still use the Gallery to fill my users' requirement, but ideally I'd like it if I could search and also use a single-signon/Windows Auth (mixed mode)...

It seems even 3rd party gallery modules havn't managed to integrate their search with DNN's yet
