I have just created my first module and I want to know what I have to do to make it available to DNN.

I am using VS 2008.

Thanks in advance

Do you mean that you want to install the module in an installation of DotNetNuke that is different from that in which you developed the module or that you want to make the module available to the greater DotNetNuke community?

If you are asking the first question, have you registered the module and its controls in Host-->Module Definitions?

And, if the module makes use of the database, have you written an SqlDataProvider script to define custom tables and stored proceedures used by the module or did you create the tables/sprocs directly in the database using SQL Server Management Studio or the VS2008 SQL tools?

 Thanks for the answer.

This is my first module and I am trying to learn to build  my own modules...

I have just created this one from VS but when I run the page I can add it because it is not available in the host-module definition

The question is how can I make it available?

go to host :: Module  definitions and select "add new module". use "create from control" and initially select your default control. you might need to add other modules by using edit subsequently. for distribution use "create module package" option once you finished development.
