We are running DNN 5.2.1 and  everytime a user registers, the verification code is set to *****.  How do we correct this so that the verification code is randomized.

Thanks,
Josh

this sounds very strange, how do you register users, are you using 3rd party modules for this task?

I believe that the site is using the default authentication providers, but I'm not too familiar with DNN, yet.  I just started working on this project that was developed by another company, so I'm still familiarizing myself with it.  As far as I can tell, the user registration is handled exclusively within dotnetnuke.  Where in the dotnetnuke source is is the verification code generated?

Thanks,
Josh

verification code is built from portalid "-" UserID.

go to Language Editor in Admin menu and in default file (GlobalResources) look for Email_ ... templates. there should be one appropriate for the registration method with the password as [membership:password] mentioned.

I suspect that the ***** is being generated from DotNetNuke.Services.Tokens.PropertyAccess.ContentLocked.  A comment indicates that this is called when the Property is not available.  Where is the Verification code stored in the database, or what other factors might cause it to not be found.

Thanks,
Josh
