I need permenant solution for my problem: my SQL database is growing beyond the quota, and i still dont know why. i have recently added text/html modules and pasted text and images in them and i dont know if that is the reason for my SQL to grow over than 400 MB. Please tell me what I should do. I can't affod the high cost of dedicated servers. Can i put my SQL database on my website space like anyother file and let it grow as large as it wish??

Thank you

Look at the size of your EventLog and SiteLog tables, and clear them accordingly.

Run this command to find the sizes for all the tables; exec sp_msforeachtable "sp_spaceused '?'". Find the tables which are unusually big.

It doesn't matter where the database file resides if there's a quota. Hosts don't want databases growing too big otherwise sql server engine performance will suffer and this will affect all the databases on the server, which is not good.

Also, if you have access to the database - change the backup method to "Simple".  Then perform a backup, this will empty the transaction log.  The "simple" backup method will also cause the database to no longer log database changes to the transaction log.

If you are unable to change the backup method, then simply perform a backup, then perform a database "shrink" and this should return the space used by the transaction log.

Hope this helps
Paul.

Additionaly to the above posts make sure your schedule is set to clear the site and event log files, if this does not help there are free modules you can use to do it for you - google "dnn sql jobs module". If still having problems than check which table is growing too big and take apropriate action.
