Hi,

I'm new to DNN, but not new to CSS, HTML and C#/ASP.Net

However I an trying to find out the simplest way of taking a website design which I have created in CSS/XHTML and turning that into a skin for DNN.

Is it a simple process, or do skins work completely differently to how a traditional website would.

The way I am imagining/seeing it as, is similar to ASP.Net master pages, which allow you to drop in different modules into the page, for example a content editor area/calendar/web poll etc etc.

I guess I am seeing it the way I see sharepoint, with different zones that allow you to add web parts? I've tried looking online for a tutorial showing exactly how to go from your CSS design and puttring it into a skin, but can't seem to find anything.

I've subscribed to DNN Creative but not had a chance to have a good look around yet.

If somebody could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Kind Regards,

Dan

First step - read the skinning guide

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Support/Doc...

Its a very old document so just read it to understand how the skinning works

Step - two look at the standard Min. Extropy skin together with this document

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Development...

Step 3 Do a simple skin yourself and test and have fun...
