I am looking to build a website using DNN where I can do the following:

- Allow a user to upload a word document (.doc) and data using forms to a database and the option of charging them for this service
- Allow a user to search the database using specific keywords and return results
- Amend data in the database provided they have sufficient privileges
- Upon searching the database, the ability to sort and manage the result
- Having searched and found an entry in the database, the ability to email this with additional data captured using a form to a friend/colleague. etc.

I am new to DNN so can someone please therefore point me in the direction of ideally a "free" or low cost module?

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

  • what do you mean by uploading doc and data? please be more specific about your use case
  • there are a number of modules allowing search in a database or edit it, you may either use a generic module or a custom module.
  • check out for example sqlgridselectedviev from www.tressleworks.ca

Thanks for the Reference Sebastian,

However based on the Ryan's orginal requirement, SQLGridSelectedView can only display the contents of the database table (some editing is possible, but not as much as is required)

For the Download, you may want to used other third party modules and simply link to them from the database listing.  For edit the database, here again I would suggest a third party module.

Paul.

I use Enterprise Forms longnhi.com combined with Paul's SGSV to cover most of my needs in this regard.
