Hi,

What I really miss in DNN is a workflow management, like some roles (Editors) can make new articles or edit them and roles (Reviewers) that look if the changes are ok and  approve the article (like moderators in Forums). Also a version management for such articles would be great. I'm beginning to think about making such modules, but before I put work into this I wanted to ask if soemone else is doing that already? Maybe even the DNN Core team (at least something like that is on their roadmap).

Thanks, Rainer.

Well as far as I know it's on a roadmap for the future, although I haven't heared any plans for it to be added soon.

But what will probably remain is that module developers will need to get "workflow awared" and start adding that kind of functionalities module by module - I see somehow that in DNN framework we will get something similar to ISearchable, IUpgradeable and such approach.

But, until we get modules (or support from core team) like that you can look into implementing Workflow Foundation from Microsoft in your modules. (actually MS's WF has a great support for ASP.NET apps, and it's pretty easy to implement it as well)

hope it helps (..atleast a bit)

Can anybody tell me if anyone is currently working on this project? Are their any requirements? Is it planned to be something that will be applied as a component to all modules? Or, will it be a module that can be added to a page which will interact with modules on that page in such a way that when changes are commited to the database they will be added to a staging area subject to approval by a content administrator?

There is already such a module (called Enterprise Forms) which essentially have all the workflow, publishing and versioning requirements.
