This is possibly a newbie question, but I'm a newbie, I'll ask anyway:

Is moving from the professional edition to community edition just like a regular upgrade? Or will "professional features" be disabled after 30 days, and my installation work as community edition after that? Or to I have to do a complete install from scratch?

as far as I know, going from PE to CE is possible, but it is somewhat of a manual process. Depending on what PE features you used this might be more or less work

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll go for a new install to avoid problems then:)

Downgrading from PE to CE is not officially supported.  As Erik stated, it is possible to manually migrate the data to CE, however it would require a good understanding of DotNetNuke to make sure that you properly removed all of the relevant DotNetNuke Pro pieces.  Failure to do this properly could result in a website which may have difficulty upgrading to later versions of Community Edition.  I recommend that you use the trial edition strictly for evaluating whether DotNetNuke Professional is the correct choice for your installation.
