Hi, I would like to find the  solution to show signin control permanently in left pane or in any place inside the skin.

Still need Logout button, so I use login control.

The problem that logout  link doesn't work if I put both of them(Login and SignIn) inside the skin.

Could anybody advice me on this issue please?

I tryed already to show/hide them based on user Authentication.  still can't logout.

May be there is cleaner solution with just using Login and set it somehow to display username and password form not in the center of the page but on a side or in right or left pane?

Thanks.

Please share your experiences of using SignIn token in skin? How would you logout? What is the best solution? Apperently putting Login Token and SignIn tokens in same skin doesn't work. It doesn't logyouout. Anybody had same task and problem?

Thanks a lot.

Snowbird,

To be honest, you're not being very articulate. I'm not sure what it is you want to do...

Do you want to use the Login SkinObject Token, or do you want to have the Login Module permanently on a page..?

Login Token in .ascx like so:

<dnn:LOGIN runat="server" id="dnnLOGIN"  CssClass="yourclass" />

Otherwise install the User Account / Account Login module onto the page n the pane you want.

My best suggestion is to have a look at the default MinimalExtropy skin and learn how DNN skins are put together.

Thanks for your replay.

I do not have any problem using Login Token. I will try to describe differently.

When you put login token in skin it will display Login link on your portal. When you click on it  you get SignIn form in the middle of the page.

I would need to display that SignIn form permanently and not in the midle of the page but in the coner for example.

Could you advice me on better way to do that?

P.S. I tryied to use

<dnn:SIGNIN runat="server" id="dnnSIGNIN"/>

It works but I still need Logout functionality. If I use Login token and signin token in skin,  Logout link doesn't work.

Is there any better way?

Thanks.

Snowbird,

I have exactly this problem right now; which, I hasten to add you describe perfectly clearly if you have experienced it. Did you ever solve the problem?

Brian
