Hi,

Hope this is the right place to ask - so here we go:

I have one portal where everything has been centered. And I mean everything. Even when I log in and edit pages, all the setting options are centered as well. I'm going nuts (not that this is big news in itself), because it seems like <center></center> tags has been put around the whole portal. Or maybe just a <center> in the beginning would be interpreted that way.

Question; where do I go to look for a correction to this, which I surely assume is an error?

Has to be in the skin design. Hopefully you are using a CSS and not

< - center ->tags. Often skins are designed so that the page is centered on the sceen, then an inner div is set to be left justified. 

 

Look at the CSS (Use firefox and get the Web eveloper Toolbar add-on. You can then make style changes directly - but temporarily- to see how the page is affected)

If the page can be reached publicly, it would probably be easy to figure out what is causing the problem.

In order to help solve your problem, it's always good to give a few more details than you have:

  1. What version of DNN are you using?
  2. Is there a live version that we can look at?
  3. Is your skin a purchased skin, or your won skin that you designed?
  4. Does the skin have a valid XML Doctype declaration file?
  5. etc, etc

If you give all the facts, we can help you a little better...

Right then. <center> tags are a rather stupid (forgive me) way of centering something like an entire skin..! Anyway. Either get rid of this and centre the layout properly, or get into the CSS of the site and fix each element in order. Either way, you're going to need to know HTML and CSS to get by... Again, if we had more info we could help you better...
